He is a professional accountant and a certified Microsoft Technology expert. He has utilised leading analytical tools (Lotus 1-2-3, Microsoft Excel, IDEA, Power BI, Power Query, Python, etc.) to organise and derive insights from data for over three decades. He was Head of the IT Audit Group at the Central Bank of Nigeria before his retirement.

Mr Rotimi Abayomi is a seasoned Backend Engineer with four years of practical experience constructing and deploying Java Spring Boot microservices for enterprise applications. Bank Accounts Consolidation

This involves consolidating over a thousand legacy bank accounts across different applications into just three types of operating account within a single application for 24 banks, along with their balances, in a matter of hours.

Terminal Salary Determination

We needed to recalculate terminal salaries for different staff grades, considering their length of service, age, exit date, salary history over multiple years, and identify errors totalling half a billion in local currency

Data Templates

Collecting data from respondents or daily transactions can often be difficult, and key details are sometimes missed. To address this, we developed templates that streamline data entry. This approach greatly minimizes errors, accelerates the compilation of returns, and enables dynamic creation of approval memos and reports.

Irregularities In Allowances

The task involved reviewing extensive records of Personal Travel Allowance applicants to identify irregularities such as diversion, impersonation, duplication, and misuse. Using advanced analytics, over $100,000 was recovered, and approximately five staff members were dismissed.

Audit Scripts

Repetitive tasks using traditional tools can be tedious, particularly during audits. To enhance audit results, we automated several processes, including auditing the Trial Balance, Payroll Data, Loans Data, Invoice Processing, and Interest/Fees calculations.
